Grahams Late Bottled Vintage Portis an expressive and concentrated Port crafted from grapes sourced from four of Grahams premier Douro Valley quintas: Quinta dos Malvedos, Quinta do Tua, Quinta da Vila Velha, and Quinta do Vale de Malhadas. The 2019 season
Grahams Late Bottled Vintage Portis an expressive and concentrated Port crafted from grapes sourced from four of Grahams premier Douro Valley quintas: Quinta dos Malvedos, Quinta do Tua, Quinta da Vila Velha, and Quinta do Vale de Malhadas. The 2019 season was exceptionally dry and hot, producing an unusually early harvest and very low yields, resulting in a wine of remarkable intensity, concentration, and balance.
Grahams was founded in 1820 in Portugals Douro Valley and has remained under the stewardship of the Symington family for generations. Renowned for crafting some of the worlds finest Ports, Grahams blends tradition, expertise, and the unique terroir of the Douro to create wines of exceptional quality.
Grapes were hand-picked at optimal ripeness and fermented in small batches. The wine was matured for five years in seasoned oak casks at Grahams historic 1890 lodge in Vila Nova de Gaia before being bottled ready for drinking. This extended ageing gives the wine structure and depth while preserving the vibrancy and freshness characteristic of Grahams Ports.
On the nose, Grahams 2019 LBV displays aromatic notes of honeysuckle and mint, complemented by subtle tropical fruit undertones. The palate is rich and layered, with ripe black fruits and kirsch flavours, supported by fine-grained tannins and lively acidity, leading to a long, harmonious finish.
Best enjoyed slightly chilled and pairs beautifully with dark chocolate desserts, semi-cured cheeses such as Manchego, or mature Cheddar. Once opened, the wine will maintain its quality for up to six weeks.
