Alcohol ABV14.5%The fruit for Eldertons Ashmead is source from the oldest Cabernet vines on the estate. The wine is matured in French oak for 18 months then given a further 12 months bottle age before being released. Totally opaque black dark crimson red colour with deep dark red hue. Aromas of ripe blackcurrant and dark plums are followed by some dark chocolate, liquorice and cedar notes showing good intensity. Full bodied, rich and opulent the palate delivers mouthfilling flavours of ripe blackcurrant, cassis, dark chocolate, liquorice, cedar and spice. Firmish but fine grained tannins. Excellent depth with long cassis, liquorice, cedar and spice aftertaste.
