Albert Domingo Navarro of Celler Tuets is a real tenderoni: a kinder young Catalan fellow you won’t meet. Albert’s cellar feels a bit like a tiny alt-music show could just sort of start happening at any moment; his drum set is right next to his steel tanks. He works in the corner of Tarragona that borders the Baix Peneds, a higher-elevation place, on a farm that’s surrounded by national forest: scrub trees, high grass. It’s far away from the industrial landscapes just outside Barcelona and has nothing to do with the money found in Big Ag / Cava. This is his Parellada: light as a feather, sizzling with acidity, touches of spring blossoms throughout. The genuine ideal of an aperitif white wine.
