Launched in 2021 as a new addition to the Compass Box core range. The majority of the recipe uses whisky purchased as new make by Compass Box which was then matured in a variety of casks. Comprised of a Highland malt blend matured in custom French oak barrels (2%), an undisclosed malt from a distillery near the town of Aberlour matured in revatted Oloroso sherry-seasoned butts (8%) and several malts matured in first-fill bourbon barrels: Linkwood (39%), Clynelish (29%), Benrinnes (20%) and Caol Ila (2%). Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 46%. (Bottle size 750ml)
Nose: Apple, pear and peach. Black cherry, pineapple and citrus zests. Vanilla and toasted desiccated coconut with sweet biscuity notes and touches of cinnamon and Earl Grey tea.
Palate: Apple juice, muesli, banana and honey. Wild strawberry. Very breakfast-like at first! An oily texture with subtle peat. Sultana, vanilla and then a creaminess infused with hay and meadowsweet.
Finish: Hints of cocoa powder in the finish.

Orchard House gathers together some of the fruitiest malts Scotland has to offer, including whiskies from the Linkwood and Clynelish distilleries; whats more, we have sourced many of these whiskies as new spirit and laid them down in our own oak casks. This, our monument to fresh fruitiness in Scotch whisky, has been many years in the making.
Tasting Notes
Aromas of apple and pear dominate, with hints of pineapple, lemon and lime zest, and Earl Grey tea. Take a sip and note the malty and gingery flavors. These are soon joined by honey, wild strawberries and vanilla shortbread.
