Crafted from one of Australias most historic boutique wineries, the 2006 Lakes Folly Cabernets blends Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc, sourced exclusively from the estate vineyard in Hunter Valley. The vintage benefited from a long, mild growing season, yielding fruit of exceptional balance and structure.

The wine presents a deep ruby hue with aromatic layers of blackcurrant, cedar, bay leaf, and graphite, evolving into hints of leather and tobacco with age. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and finely textured, with flavors of ripe dark berries, earthy undertones, and supple tannins leading into a long, elegant finish. Matured in French oak, this wine reflects Old World finesse with Australian terroir character.

Cellaring potential has been excellent; the 2006 vintage shows refined integration and can be enjoyed now or held for a few more years under good conditions.
