Closed in 1983, Port Ellen is the stuff of legends. Incredibly rare and sought-after, their Whiskies are known to demonstrate some of the finest character found on the island of Islay. The distillery houses a malting which to this day continues to supply all Islay distilleries, as per an agreement signed in 1987.

This 1979 vintage was released by independent bottlers, Signatory Vintage. Distilled on August 28, 1979, and aged for 22 years in a refill Sherry Butt #5537, it was bottled on June 25, 2002, as one of only 338 in total.
