The grapes for the Redoma Branco come from old vineyards on the right bank of the Douro River, at an elevation of 400 to 600 meters. The mica schist soils in which these vines thrive provide plenty of minerality, elegance, and lively freshness to the resulting wines. The fruit was gently crushed and left to settle for around 24 hours after being properly sorted on our sorting table. Alcoholic fermentation occurred naturally in 228L and 500L French oak barrels, where the wine also matured for 8 months.
Tasting NotesThe Redoma Branco 2020 embodies the elegance, structure, and acidity that the Douro’s mica-schist soils are capable of expressing. A delicate fragrance offers flowery and citric notes, orchard fruit, grassy scents, and undertones of hazelnut that add complexity and character to the wine. The palate has good acidity and a light structure, and it finishes dry and peppery. This is a smooth white Douro wine with remarkable balance and ageability.Food PairingThis white wine complements a wide range of foods, including oysters, oven-baked fish, chicken, and other white meats. Pair it with root vegetables (turnips, sweet potatoes, beetroot), Caesar salad, and cheese when cooking vegetarian.
