Meet the Producer

Ventisquero, meaning glacier in Spanish, takes inspiration from Chiles wild landscapes and diverse climates. Under the guidance of winemaker Felipe Tosso, the winery focuses on innovation, sustainability, and the authentic expression of terroir. The Grey collection represents the essence of single-block vineyards, each wine a tribute to its origin and crafted with exceptional attention to detail.

Production

Grapes are hand-selected in the vineyard, with 50% of the clusters crushed before fermentation. The must undergoes a three to five-day pre-fermentative maceration to enhance colour and aroma. Fermentation follows at low temperatures between 22C and 26C in small, open containers with gentle daily pump-overs. A post-fermentative maceration of up to two weeks ensures fine, well-integrated tannins.

Maturation

The wine is aged for approximately one year in 2,500-litre French oak foudres, allowing subtle oak influence while preserving purity, texture, and fruit expression.

Tasting Notes

Deep ruby in colour, this blend opens with vibrant aromas of red cherry, plum, and cassis, layered with black pepper and hints of forest floor. The palate is refined and balanced, with lively acidity, polished tannins, and a long, elegant finish.

Food Match

Best served between 14C and 17C, ideally decanted 30 minutes before serving. Perfect with cured meats, Serrano ham, sausages, lamb, or porkor simply enjoyed on a sunny terrace with friends.
