Tullibardine 1973 is the fifth edition of the prestigious Custodians Collection. Drawn from deep in Tullibardines cellars that hold some rare and precious whiskies, this edition was produced from a sherry butt that was re-casked in 2014.
Nose: On the nose youll find a delightful combination of rich caramel, vanilla pods and butterscotch.
Palate: Delicate, warm oak spices, toasted oak and caramelised brown sugar intensify on the palate, and the complexity deepens for a sweet luxurious texture.
Finish: A lingering, creamy and rich finish.
(tully-BAR-din) The current Tullibardine distillery, in Blackford, Perthshire was built in 1949 and was the first new malt distillery built in Scotland in the 20th Century. Tullibardine lay silent from 1994 to 2003; a new consortium bought the distillery and developed a retail park on the same site. Tullibardine is one of the few distilleries in Scotland that bottles on site. Travellers to the north of Scotland travelling through Perthshire will see Tullibardine clearly, sited right next to the Highland Spring bottling plant. Tullibardine produces a light, floral and fruity single malt whisky. In recent years, the brand has become known for its wine finishes.
