Chteau Ormes de Pez is an estate in the Saint-Estphe appellation of Bordeaux’s northwestern Haut-Mdoc region. The estate was formerly classified as a Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel and, when the classification was formally dropped in 2011, became a part of the marketing group Les Exceptionnels with five other former Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel properties. Chteau Ormes de Pez lies within the small hamlet area of Pez (a separate estate, Chteau de Pez, lies over the road), just west of Sait-Estphe village. Prior to the French Revolution, the property was part of the Domaine de Pez estate in Saint-Estphe, it’s situation being later defined by the elm trees (“ormes” in French) once growing on the property.
