Opaque garnet with blackish tones. Inviting, multi-dimensional aromas of cinnamon, black pepper, glove leather and chestnut puree. Intense flavors of blackberry, mint and marzipan. A dense, concentrated wine, with substantial extract and full tannic thrust. At once juicy and plush, with lovely spice components emerging on the long finish.
Reviews:
Siro Pacenti is an acclaimed estate in Tuscany, known for its Brunello di Montalcino wines. It is credited with being one of Montalcino’s top estates, with praise for the wines consistently recieved from both customers and critics. The estate vineyards total 22 hectares (54 acres), located around Pelagrilli, just north of Montalcino. Here, soils are made up of both clay and sand with the vineyards cooled by continental breezes thanks to the Montalcino Hill. Wine produced from this vineyard tend to have complex aromatics and softer tannins, while wines made at a warmer 5 ha (12 acre) site at Piancornello, are more full-bodied with a more robust tannic structure. Siro Pacenti’s portfolio is headed by the Riserva PS, which is sourced from a single 1.5 ha (3.7 acre) plot in Pelagrilli and aged for 24 months in new French oak. Pacenti also makes two other Brunello wines called Vecchie Vigne and Pelagrilli. A Rosso di Montalcino sourced from younger vines makes for the estate’s entry-level offering.
