This elegantly structured and aromatic Nebbiolo comes from the first harvest of the new Nebbiolo planting at Chalmers Vineyard. Inspired by my time in Barbaresco, I was eager to showcase the best of Colbinabbins unique soils through a classical Nebbiolo. The remarkable Chalmers family made this possible with a diverse planting sourced from their extensive nursery program. Positioned mid-slope with an east-west orientation, this block offers an ideal foundation for the variety in the region. Though still young, this wine is crafted with elegance and longevity in mind. I thoroughly enjoy it now and eagerly anticipate its evolution over time.

A variety of clones used from the Chalmers vineyard, de-stemmed, co-fermented, pressed to stainless steel tanks, 12 months in a new 2100L Slovenian oak cask. A stunner by any measure, but especially so for nebbiolo, revealing both its beauty and its power. An elegant and fragrant introduction in rose petal and musk, red licorice, bright red fruits and wild herbs. A lovely purity is displayed on the palate, aromatic, lifted, medium bodied and well shaped in ripe, cherry tannins. It’s a fine-edged youngster tight in trademark nebbiolo acidity and one with a big future. – Halliday Rating 95 Points, Jeni Port Published 11 February 2025
