Grapes for the Cape Point Noordhoek Sauvignon Blanc 2023 come from selected vineyard parcels with more fruit-driven aromas. Composed of 85% Sauvignon Blanc and 14% Smillon, grapes are hand-picked, destemmed, and gently crushed into a press. The juice is allowed to settle naturally over 12 to 24 hours without additives. Fermentation takes place between 14 and 16C, with regular mixing. After fermentation, the wine stays on fine fermentation lees for four months. Bottled at 13%. (Bottle size 750ml)
Nose: Intense aromas of lime zest, passion fruit, and gooseberry, with layers of blackcurrant leaf, crushed seashells, and subtle flinty minerality.
Palate: Crisp and vibrant, showcasing grapefruit, green apple, and tropical fruit, balanced by a textured mid-palate and a hint of saline minerality. The oak-fermented portion adds depth and subtle creaminess.
Finish: Refreshing and zesty, with lingering citrus notes and a distinctive coastal salinity.
