Originally released in 1988 as part Diageo’s Classic Malts range which showcased select single malts from across Scotland in the company’s large whisky portfolio. Lagavulin 16yo is the flagship release from this iconic distillery and a classic whisky that every new whisky drinker should try, while still offering experienced drinkers a level of complexity they can appreciate. Matured predominantly in ex-bourbon oak casks with a portion of ex-sherry. Bottled at 43%.

Nose: Intensely flavoured, peat smoke with iodine and seaweed and a rich, deep sweetness.

Palate: Dry peat smoke fills the palate with a gentle but strong sweetness, followed by sea and salt with touches of wood.

Finish: A long, elegant peat-filled finish with lots of salt and seaweed.
