The vineyards of Michel Mallard located in Ladoix-Serrigny at the foot of Corton Hill in the Cotes de Beaune encompass all levels of vineyard quality: Villages, Premier Cru Grand Cru. From the name that literally means “vixens” (Renardes), the name is appropriate as this Grand Cru with its iron rich soils that reputedly impart the rich, gamey character of these Pinot Noir. Along with the animal subtleties, expect to find blueberry, red currant, licorice and hints of black pepper on a ricy and racy palate.
