An incredibly special release thats won practically every Whiskey award going.
James Powerwas an innkeeper in Dublin. In1791he decided to take some of his profits and start hisown distillery. Thus,Johns Lane Distilleryat Thomas Street was born. The company grew and was very successful, so as soon as he was of age, his son John joined the family business, thusJohn Power and Sonbecame the official name.
They innovated and expanded greatly on their way to becoming themost popular Whiskey in the world. In fact, POWERS was one of thefirst distilleries in the world and the very first in Ireland to start bottling their own Spirit in1886. Up until then, Whiskey was sold by the cask.
Powers John Lane is consistently described as one of the best Irish Whiskeys created. It typifies Irish Whiskey in a truly classic way. It is a celebration of the original “Pot Still Whiskey” that was produced at John’s Lane Distillery.Tripple-distilledin copper pot stills,Powers John Lane is then matured a minimum of 12 years insecond-fill and third-fill American oak casks, while a small portion (6%) of distillate is aged for a year inOloroso Sherry butts. This Whiskey is all about balance in ways rarely seen in the category.
*Powers has recently changed their labels, and as the original labels are being phased out, there is still a chance that you might receive a bottle different than what is pictured. But rest assured, the liquid remains the same, regardless of the label.
