Sourced from the Five Soldiers vineyard, named after the five tall stone pine trees that tower over this exceptional site. This Chardonnay exemplifies Rustenbergs balance of ripe fruit, minerality, and refined oak.

Vineyard & Terroir
Grapes benefit from a cooler growing season and lower yields, producing concentrated flavours and bright natural acidity. The 2023 vintage faced La Nia-influenced conditions with dry, cool weather interspersed with timely rains, resulting in elegant, ripe white wines.

Winemaking
Hand-harvested grapes are whole bunch pressed and fermented in 300L French oak hogsheads (72% new, 28% second fill) using wild yeasts. Full malolactic fermentation is completed, with the wine aged on its lees for 14 months to develop texture and complexity.

Tasting Notes
Ripe citrus, melon, and peach aromas with pronounced minerality. The palate is complex and creamy, with well-judged oak and a long, structured finish supported by fresh acidity.
